💨 Abstract
The NBA approved the sale of the Boston Celtics to a group led by Bill Chisholm for $6.1 billion, making it the most valuable U.S. sports franchise. Chisholm will gain majority control shortly and full control by 2028, with the potential value increasing. Chisholm outbid other groups, including one led by Steve Pagliuca, who plans to acquire the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun and relocate them to Boston.
