💨 Abstract
Former Washington, DC, police lieutenant Shane Lamond was sentenced to 18 months in prison for leaking confidential information to Enrique Tarrio, the leader of the Proud Boys, and misleading federal agents. Lamond was convicted of obstruction of justice and lying to investigators. He had tipped off Tarrio about an arrest warrant for burning a Black Lives Matter banner. The judge emphasized that Lamond's actions damaged the reputation of the Metropolitan Police Department.
