💨 Abstract
The British government announced its readiness to go to court to ensure that the $3.2 billion proceeds from the sale of Premier League club Chelsea, owned by sanctioned Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, reach Ukraine war victims. Abramovich had agreed to use the proceeds for a charitable foundation aiding Ukraine war victims, but the funds remain frozen. The government is frustrated by the lack of agreement with Abramovich and is prepared to pursue legal action to redirect the funds to humanitarian causes in Ukraine.
