đź’¨ Abstract
Israel has targeted and killed an Al Jazeera correspondent in Gaza, the 184th Palestinian journalist or media worker killed since October 2023. Israel's restrictions on foreign media have forced Gaza coverage to rely on local, often risky, reporting, with Al Jazeera bearing the heaviest price. The challenges faced by journalists in Gaza, including personal safety and basic survival, highlight the dire conditions within the territory.
