💨 Abstract
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the production of new hypersonic missiles has started and will be deployed to Belarus by year-end. These Oreshnik missiles can travel at speeds up to Mach 10 and are deemed impossible to intercept. Russia used one in November against a Ukrainian factory. Putin warned of potential use against NATO allies aiding Ukraine. Belarus has signed a treaty with Russia, allowing Russian nuclear weapons on its territory, which could extend Russia's reach to target several NATO allies.
