💨 Abstract

In 1975, Bob Hall, a polio survivor, participated in the Boston Marathon using a wheelchair while his teammate, Bill Rodgers, ran the race. Hall finished the race in 2 hours, 58 minutes, setting a precedent for wheelchair divisions in marathons. On the 50th anniversary of their historic race, wheelchair racers will lead the field in the 129th Boston Marathon.
