💨 Abstract
Jim Dent, a renowned Black golfer from Augusta, Georgia, passed away at 85. Dent grew up caddying at Augusta's municipal course, "The Patch," and went on to become one of the PGA Tour's longest hitters. He never won on the PGA Tour but played consistently for 16 years, with his best result in the 1972 Walt Disney World Open Invitational.
