In their inaugural game, the Golden State Valkyries lost to the Los Angeles Sparks 84-67, with Kelsey Plum scoring 37 points for the Sparks. Despite the loss, the atmosphere was electric with a sellout crowd at the transformed arena in San Francisco. Vanessa Hayes led the Valkyries with 19 points.
