The Tampa Bay Rays defeated the Houston Astros 3-2 at Steinbrenner Field. Down 2-0, the Rays tied the game in the eighth inning with Jonathan Aranda's two-run single and won it in the ninth with Taylor Walls' sacrifice fly. Astros starter Brandon Walter, in his major league debut, pitched well but took the loss. Manuel Rodriguez secured the win for the Rays with a scoreless ninth.
