Cal Raleigh of the Seattle Mariners set a new record for home runs by a catcher before the All-Star break, surpassing Johnny Bench's 1970 mark. Raleigh hit his 28th and 29th home runs in a 9-4 win against the Chicago Cubs, leading Seattle with three hits and driving in three runs. His season total now stands at 63 RBIs.
