💨 Abstract

Since 1927, Oakmont Country Club has hosted nine U.S. Open golf championships, each with memorable moments and legendary winners. Tommy Armour won the first in 1927 in a playoff with a score unreplicated by a U.S. Open champion since. Sam Parks Jr. triumphed in 1935, highlighting the course's difficulty. Ben Hogan won in 1953, marking the largest margin victory in 15 years.
