On July 11, 2025, Max Scherzer, pitching for the Toronto Blue Jays, delivered a strong performance against the Oakland Athletics, striking out eight and allowing just five hits over six innings in a 7-6 victory. Scherzer, returning from injury, showcased his dominance, striking out five batters consecutively and practically shutting out the A’s for five innings. Despite giving up two home runs in the sixth, he limited the damage.
