💨 Abstract
Former Formula 1 race steward Tim Mayer is announced his plans to run for the presidency of the FIA. Mayer, the son of McLaren co-founder Teddy Mayer, returns to FIA after holding several roles in the US race series and being an F1 steward until last year. Mayer’s candidacy announcement follows criticism and internal strife within the FIA under the current president, Mohammed Ben Sulayem. George Russell also mentioned that he welcomes an election that will surely push the candidates to do better.
