The Phillies started the day behind the NL East-leading New York Mets. Phillies' pitcher Ranger Suárez allowed one run in 5 2/3 innings. Yankees' captain Aaron Judge sat out due to an elbow issue. The Yankees have struggled since the All-Star break, dropping to 3-5.
