💨 Abstract
The University of Montana has decided to opt into the NCAA's House settlement this year, allowing them to pay athletes for their name, image, and likeness (NIL). Initially, the university planned to opt-in during the 2026-27 academic year but changed their mind after the settlement allowed for the grandfathering of current roster sizes. This change will enable Montana to preserve their roster limits, enhancing their competitive recruiting.
