💨 Abstract
Belgian rider Remco Evenepoel, 25, and Tour de France contender, withdrew from the race during the final Pyrenean stage on Saturday. Evenepoel struggled and was dropped on the ascent of the Tourmalet climb, the first of four major mountains. He got off his bike and retired into a team car. Evenepoel won the opening time trial but faced difficulties in the Pyrenees, managing to keep his third place before the stage.
