💨 Abstract

Zeynep Sonmez made history as the first Turkish player in the professional era to reach the third round of a Grand Slam tournament by defeating Xinyu Wang at Wimbledon. She hopes her victory inspires young Turkish tennis players and notes the support from her community. Though it's been 75 years since a Turkish woman reached this stage, Sonmez's win signifies a step forward for Turkish tennis.
