💨 Abstract
Mariano Rivera injured his Achilles tendon during the Yankees’ Old-Timers’ Day Game, while playing center field. Rivera, 55, originally planned to meet with struggling reliever Devin Williams. The game celebrated the 25th anniversary of the 2000 championship team. Rivera, a 13-time All-Star respected for his 652 career saves and 42 postseason saves, helped the Yankees win five World Series titles and seven American League pennants.
