Cade Horton, a rookie for the Chicago Cubs, struck out a career-high eight batters in 5 2/3 innings, helping the Cubs defeat the Toronto Blue Jays 4-1. Michael Busch and Matt Shaw hit homers for Chicago. Cubs catcher Miguel Amaya left the game with an ankle injury. Horton's scoreless streak ended at 28 1/3 innings. Daniel Palencia secured the save, and Busch added an RBI later.
