In a Tuesday night game, the Cincinnati Reds defeated the NL East-leading Philadelphia Phillies 6-1, ending the Phillies' four-game winning streak. Brady Singer pitched six shutout innings, allowing four hits and striking out six, while Spencer Steer drove in three runs. Miguel Andujar hit a solo home run. The Reds had 10 hits and scored six runs, their second-most in August. Bryce Harper's ninth-inning homer spoiled the Reds' shutout bid.
