💨 Abstract

Vitesse Arnhem, one of the oldest soccer clubs in the Netherlands, may cease operations after a Dutch court rejected its appeal to retain its professional license. The club, established in 1892, faced sanctions due to regulatory non-compliance and ties to a sanctioned Russian oligarch. The Dutch soccer association (KNVB) maintains that Vitesse repeatedly failed to meet licensing conditions. The club's future is uncertain, with its first match of the season canceled.
