Supreme Court rejects Trump bid to resume quick deportations of Venezuelans under 18th-century law -
đź’¨ Abstract
The Supreme Court blocked the Trump administration's quick deportation of Venezuelans under the 18th-century Alien Enemies Act. The Justices ruled in favor of an emergency appeal by Venezuelan men accused of being gang members, stating that deportations cannot be carried out without giving individuals a reasonable time to contest their removal. The case, which involves the Tren de Aragua gang, will now return to the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
