💨 Abstract

There has been a surge in hand, foot, and mouth disease cases in Fairfax County, Virginia, with six cases reported recently, particularly in day care centers. The highly contagious virus, common in summer, spreads through respiratory droplets, drooling, and contact with stools. Symptoms include painful blisters on hands, feet, diaper region, and throat. Good hygiene, including hand-washing, is crucial. To prevent dehydration, ensure children stay hydrated and avoid acidic foods.
