💨 Abstract
The Washington Capitals clarified that no decision has been made about Alex Ovechkin's future after an email to season-ticket holders suggested 2025-26 would be his last season. The team admitted the email was sent in error. Ovechkin, who just broke Wayne Gretzky’s goal-scoring record, is under contract for one more season, plans to play, and turns 40 in September.
