💨 Abstract

Patrick Corbin, a 35-year-old left-handed pitcher, made a surprising appearance for the Texas Rangers after an insect bite left him with a swollen ankle. Doctors and manager Bruce Bochy initially considered his debut a 50-50 possibility. However, Corbin received treatment and pitched 5 1/3 innings in his first home start, helping the Rangers secure a 3-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels.
