David Peterson pitched his first nine-inning complete game, leading the New York Mets to a 5-0 win over the Washington Nationals. Brandon Nimmo hit two home runs, and Juan Soto also homered against his former team. The Mets' Pete Alonso drove in his 63rd run of the season. The Mets improved to 44-24, while the Nationals lost their fourth consecutive game. Peterson struck out six and walked none, lowering his ERA to 2.4
