In a Monday night game, the Kansas City Royals defeated the Washington Nationals 7-4. Salvadore Perez and Kyle Isbel both hit two-run homers in the sixth inning, securing the win for the Royals. Perez's home run was his 21st of the season. Despite scoring the fewest runs in the AL, the Royals improved to 59-60.
