đź’¨ Abstract

In a wartime effort, the Washington Nationals secured a 2-0 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday, thanks to Cade Cavalli's impressive debut win. Cavalli pitched seven strong innings, striking out five and allowing only seven hits. The Nationals scored their two runs on James Wood's two-run double in the fifth inning. The Phillies, despite leading the NL East, were shut out for the eighth time this season. They will face Mitchell Parker on Sunday.
