💨 Abstract

In Thessaloniki, Greece, a park excavation revealed a mass grave of over 30 skeletons dating back to the country's 1946-1949 Civil War. The site was once a prison where Communist sympathizers were tortured and executed. The find has stirred emotions among descendants and revived a long-suppressed wartime legacy. Authorities are now conducting DNA testing to identify the remains.
