đź’¨ Abstract
The Vatican has recognized 167 Catholic victims of Islamic State-inspired suicide bombings in Sri Lanka six years ago as "witnesses of faith." This designation was made during a vigil at the church of St. Anthony, one of the targeted churches. The victims were chosen due to their violent opposition to their faith motivated by 'odium fidei,' or the hate of the faith. Seven victims of other faiths were also respectfully remembered.
