💨 Abstract

The World Food Program (WFP) has halted food shipments and suspended food distribution in Houthi-held areas of Yemen following a warehouse looting by rebels in mid-March. The WFP estimates that 17 million people, or half of Yemen's population, are food insecure. The seizure is the latest friction between the Houthis and the United Nations, as the rebels have detained dozens of U.N.
