💨 Abstract
In Rio de Janeiro, Brazilian military police killed Thiago da Silva Folly, the leader of the Pure Third Command drug trafficking faction, and two other suspects during a shootout in the Mare favela. Folly, who had 227 criminal charges and 17 arrest warrants, was wanted for multiple violent crimes, including the deaths of police officers. The operation disrupted local transportation and closed schools.
