💨 Abstract

An Indian climber, Subrata Ghosh, and a Filipino climber, Philipp Santiago, lost their lives while attempting to summit Mount Everest, according to expedition organizers. Ghosh died near the summit while descending, and Santiago died while ascending from Camp 4. Their bodies remain on the mountain, where retrieval is both expensive and challenging. The spring climbing season, which spans March to May, is underway, with May being the optimal month for attempting the summit.
