💨 Abstract

Heavy monsoon rains in India's northeast have resulted in at least 22 deaths due to landslides and flash floods across several states. The downpour caused severe flooding in urban areas, leading to power outages and school closures. Assam and neighboring states have been particularly hard-hit. The weather agency anticipates more heavy rains, highlighting the increased risk of natural disasters in the region due to climate change.
