💨 Abstract

In Panama, around 200 people, mostly farmers, protested on the Indio River against a planned reservoir for the Panama Canal. The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) aims to build the reservoir to address water shortages that have threatened trade and affected 2 million people in Panama City. The project, costing $1.6 billion, would increase daily ship crossings but could displace about 2,000 people.
