💨 Abstract
In Syria, Qatari and FBI teams discovered the remains of 30 individuals believed to be victims of the Islamic State (IS) in the town of Dabiq. DNA tests are being conducted to identify the remains. IS, which controlled significant parts of Syria and Iraq and declared a caliphate, was defeated in 2019. Since then, numerous mass graves have been found, including those of kidnapped foreigners like journalists and aid workers.
