💨 Abstract
Spain's airport authority, AENA, is restricting access to Madrid's airport to prevent homeless individuals from sleeping in its terminals, especially during low-traffic hours. This move comes after months of homeless encampments, with hundreds occupying the terminals. AENA has sought help from Madrid city officials, but the issue remains unaddressed due to political disagreements as the summer travel season approaches. Spain welcomed 94 million international tourists in 2024.
