💨 Abstract
On Sunday in Istanbul, Turkey's main opposition party leader, Ozgur Ozel, was assaulted as he left a memorial ceremony. The attacker, a white-haired man, struck Ozel in the face. The suspect was apprehended, and Ozel reportedly suffered no injuries. This incident revives concerns about the safety of politicians in Turkey, following a similar attack on Ozel's predecessor in 2019.
