💨 Abstract
Israel, believed to be the only nuclear-armed state in the Middle East, has maintained a policy of nuclear ambiguity to bolster its deterrence against threats like Iran. It developed its nuclear program in 1958, secretly building nuclear warheads by the early 1970s. Despite accusations of hypocrisy, Israel avoids scrutiny due to not signing the global nuclear nonproliferation treaty.
