💨 Abstract
After a mass shooting in Graz that left ten people dead, Austria will tighten its gun laws. The 21-year-old attacker legally owned the shotgun and pistol used. The new regulations will include stricter eligibility requirements, improved data-sharing, and automatic consequences for identified risks. The government will also enhance school security and set up a compensation fund for affected families. Austria has relatively liberal gun laws, with 30 firearms per 100 residents, mostly for hunting.
