💨 Abstract

Conservative Colombian presidential candidate Miguel Uribe Turbay is critically ill after being shot at a political rally in Bogotá. The 39-year-old senator underwent emergency neurosurgery and other procedures. The attack, which also injured two others, is under investigation, with a 15-year-old arrested at the scene. President Gustavo Petro promised a transparent investigation, and world leaders condemned the violence. Uribe Turbay's condition remains extremely serious and his prognosis is reserved.
