💨 Abstract
The death toll from a weekend attack in north-central Nigeria has risen to 150. Gunmen raided Yelewata community in Benue state on Friday night. Survivors reported seeing homes burned and villagers shot while sleeping. The attack heightened tensions between local farmers and Fulani herders over land and water resources. Previous conflicts include the Fulani's insistence on using traditional grazing routes, which farmers dispute, claiming their farms are being destroyed.
