💨 Abstract

In Kenya's Kakuma refugee camp, funding cuts by the U.S. have halved food rations, leaving 300,000 refugees, including Martin Komol and his five children with one meal a day. Malnutrition among children and pregnant women is rising, with the hospital seeing increased deaths. Beyond the camp, local businesses also suffer from the reduced aid. The U.N. World Food Program seeks alternative funding to avert a crisis by August.
