💨 Abstract
France implements new smoking ban, effective July 1, prohibiting smoking in parks, beaches, school perimeters, and other public areas to reduce tobacco's normalization and health impacts, especially on youth. Despite previous bans in indoor public spaces and high taxes, over 30% of French adults still smoke. The ban, criticized by some for restricting freedom, aims to protect public health, with France facing about 75,000 tobacco-related deaths annually.
