💨 Abstract

Hong Kong activist Joshua Wong was charged with conspiring to collude with foreign forces, endangering national security, under a Beijing-imposed law. This is Wong's second charge under the law; he's already serving a sentence for subversion. The prosecution accused him of seeking foreign interventions against Hong Kong and China. Wong, known for his pro-democracy activism, faces a maximum penalty of life imprisonment. The case was adjourned to August.
