💨 Abstract

In Thessaloniki, Greece, 14 unmarked graves containing victims from the country's civil war era (1946-1953) were discovered in a park near the Eptapyrgio fortress. The bodies, mostly communist sympathizers, were executed and buried haphazardly without notification to families. The graves were found during park renovations, and authorities suspect more bodies lie nearby. Relatives seek DNA tests for identification, but testing has not started yet.
