💨 Abstract
Roberto Samcam, a 67-year-old retired Nicaraguan military officer and vocal critic of President Daniel Ortega, was shot dead in his Costa Rica home. Samcam had been in exile since 2018 and played a key role in documenting human rights abuses under Ortega’s regime. This incident follows similar targeting of Nicaraguan exiles.
