💨 Abstract
In Sudan, the military agreed to a weeklong ceasefire in El Fasher, proposed by the UN, to allow humanitarian aid. UN Secretary-General António Guterres secured this truce from Gen. Abdel-Fattah Burhan, but compliance from the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) is uncertain. The ceasefire aims to address the dire humanitarian situation in El Fasher, which has been under repeated violence.
