💨 Abstract
Swiss authorities evacuated Brienz/Brinzauls, a village of under 100 residents, due to a rapidly accelerating rock mass threatening to collapse. This follows a past snowslide incident and previous evacuations due to similar risks. Though historic glacial melt has influenced the rocks, authorities state recent glacial melting due to climate change is not a factor. The village, located in the East, is monitored by early-warning systems and has a history of such precautions.
