💨 Abstract
In Lima, Peru, utility workers discovered a 1,000-year-old pre-Inca mummy while digging trenches for natural gas pipelines just 20 inches underground. The mummy, found in a seated position, is believed to belong to the Chancay culture, which existed between 1,000 and 1,470 AD.
